ALFREDA BENSON RITES ON TUESDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Alfreda Benson, 77, long time Nebraska resident were held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wahoo, Tuesday, June 28 at 2:30 p.m. 1955.
Officiating was Reverend C.S. Odell of Omaha, assisted by Mrs. Frank Davis and Mrs. R.C. Swanson, duet accompanied by Mrs. Earl Morin.
Hilda Alfreda Benson, nee Swanson, was born in Alta, Iowa, on July 27, 1877, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Swanson. She moved with her parents to Axtell, Nebraska, where her mother passed away when Alfreda was 11 years of age. Other citiesere she has resided in the past are Ottumwa, Iowa; Greeley and Lincoln, Nebraska. Wahoo was her home for 14 years where she was employed at the Smith-Hultin-Anderson store.
Her husband, William, preceeded her in death. Survivors are two stepchildren, Florence (Mrs. Percy Olson); and Dwain, both of Wahoo, six grandchildren, two brothers, Ernest of Vancouver, Wash., and Walter J. Swanson of Wahoo. One sister, Esr Pearson of Lincoln. Four brothers and two sisters preceeded her in death.
Pallbearers were Linus and Herman Erickson, Ferd Anderson, Dr. J.R. Swanson, John Nyberg and Richard Brodd. Burial was in the Grace Lutheran cemetery at Swedeburg. Ericson Funeral Home was in charge.
