A serious accident happened at the C. L. Walin farm last Monday when Arthur and Alvin were plowing. Alvin was turning the corner and we suppose a tug came unfastened and he got off to fix it, when a horse kicked him rendering him unconsciousr sometime. We hope for his speedy recovery.

OBITUARY
Alvin Rutherford Walin was born September 28, 1894, on the old Walin homestead, four and a half miles northwest of Ceresco. He gave to this community the entire period of his life and a host of friends testify to the fact that his life wasll worth while and a real blessing to the community. The source of his exemplary life is to be found in the fact that he was a Christian. Early baptized into the Lutheran Sunday school near Swedeburg, he has been an active member of the Swedebureburg church and more recently in the newly organized Immanuel Lutheran church of Ceresco. Last March, he was united in a holy wedlock with Elvira Brostrom, a confirmation class mate, who together with his parents, five sisters three brothers and a host of relatives and friends are left to mourn his early death. The fatal accident occurred Monday, September 1. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, private services at the home at 1:30 p.m. and services at the church at 2:30 p.m. Rev. C.O. Granlund was in charge, being assisted by Rev. A. T. Seashore, president of the Luther college, Wahoo. Interment was made at Swedeburg Lutheran cemetery. May God continue to comfort the sorrowing and may His message of warning through this occasion be an admonition to us, one and all, that we may at all times be prepared in Christ Jesus to meet our God.
