Married:
- The wedding of Miss Lynette Rae Piening, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Piening, to Gary William Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Nelson of Davey took place on Friday, April 3, at First Lutheran Church.
Floor length gowns of orchid chiffon featuring pouf sleeves were chosen fo rthe attendants who were Miss Kendy Jones of avey, the maid of honor; Mrs. Burdette Piening, the bridesmatron; and the bridesmaids, Miss Debbie Burd and Miss Jeanette Weschert. They carried bouquets of white gardenias.
William Sterns of Raymond served as the best man, and the groomsmen and ushers were Burdette Piening, Lyle Rae, Gary Nobbman, Robert Johnson and Eric Johnson of Ceresco.
The bride's slender gown of organze and Chantilly lace was designed in the Empire mode. The lace fashioned the long, cupped sleeves, the high stand-up collar, and was repeated in applique on the straight, floor-length skirt. Completing the bridal custome was a matching Mantilla veil of English illusion, which was held to the head by a pearled crown and she carried a cascade bouquet of white sweetheart roses and a purple orchid.
Mr. Nelson, a former student at the University of Nebraska, and his bride will reside in Emerald.
