| 3661 | Hi Jane, I have a friend in my Swedish genealogy group who is connected to Ceresco. One of his distant cousins lost both his parents and ended up in an orphanage in Holdrege in the 1890's but was adopted by a family near Ceresco. The family was Albin and Tillie Anderson. They lived in Lancaster County's Rock Creek Precinct and attended Bethlehem Mission Church. They had three daughters, Mabel, Anna and Mildred. The adopted boy was named Frank Anderson. I believe Mabel Anderson married Fred Olson and they may have lived in Ceresco at least for a while. Their children were Albin Olson and Lorraine Olson. They attended the Covenant Church in Ceresco. Dad says the name Albin Olson sounds familiar. Do you remember any of these names? Just curious. ~karen Notes about Florence's second husband Fred Olson and Fred Olson's first wife, Mabel Anderson who is related to SGSC member Ron Floberg. Mable Anderson. If she married the Fred Olson I knew. She passed away before Fred. I never knew Mable. Fred was a member of Immanuel. Fred remarried a woman named Florence. I believe Florence was married to a Brodd and I believe her husband (maybe ? Clemence ) died ( after either being kicked by a horse or taking his life.) early on and left her to raise their 3 boys. Maybe you can check in the Brodd history. At this time. The boys were all grown and gone from home. One son, Ferde, the youngest, was about my age. Florence was the postmaster in Swede burg and the post office was in her home. Anyway, Florence married Fred Olson at the parsonage next door to us. I remember seeing them coming out of the parsonage holding hands. He had a boutonniere and she had a corsage. I remember as a curious neighbor, peeking out our dining room window! It was exciting at the time and seemed gossip and newsworthy!!! | Johnson, Florence (I1400)
