With the consent of her parents and guardian, Brodens, she agreed to the marriage. Magnus presented a valid marriage certificate from Marbäck, which showed a proper exchange of vows. Both professed the Christian faith, were not related in any prohibited degree, and freely gave their consent to the marriage, which was solemnly confirmed on the 28th of October, 1848, at Ingarpsbeerg by I Fagenström. | ||

526 | ![]() | Arnold Oscar Anderson Obituary 1965 Arnold Oscar Anderson, 70, of 104 Olive Ave., Los Gatos, a retired newspaper reporter, died early yesterday morning at a Los Gatos hospital. He had been ill a year. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. The Rev. Blain Bishop will officiate at the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Los Gatos Memorial Park. Chapel of the Hills is in charge of arrangements. Anderson was born on Sept. 18, 1894, in Wahoo, Nebraska., and was graduated from the the University of Oregon's School of Journalism in Eugene. He wrote for a time for Automotive News, a weekly magazine published in New York City in the 1920s, then swung over to general assignment reporting for the Charlotte (N.C.) Observer. In 1927 he started a career in news reporting on the Yakima (Wash.) Republic that lasted 33 years. He specialized in agricultural reporting, analyzing the fruit and produce activity in the Yakima Valley. In 1960 Anderson retired and came here to live with his sister, Miss Alice E. Anderson. He never married. In addition to his sister, he is survived by two brothers, Carl Arthur Anderson of South San Francisco, and Clarence W. Anderson of Boston, Mass., and a niece, Mrs. Roger Wood of South San Francisco. | ||

She was born Sept. 11, 1933 in Dinsdale, Iowa, daughter of Clarence and Lillian Nissen Ehlers, Sr. She married Paul M. Becker on July 9, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2005. Bev worked at Carnation, Bell Telephone, National Bank and retired from Covenant Medical Center, in 1999. Survived by: her six children, Sandy (Vern) Barrick of GIlbertville, Tim (Jackie) Becker of Washburn, Nancy (Mike) Lanigan of Waterloo, Jeanette (Bill Gardner) Even of Washburn, Judy Schmitz of Des Moines and Steve (Chanteil) Becker of Jesup; 13 grandchildren, Lisa Stoddard, Brad Becker, Audra Rademacher, Neal, Lindsey and Luke Thome, Nikki Pfalzgraf, Brandi Even, Zoe Schmitz, Brandt, Dalton, Lauren and Kendall Becker; 4 great grandchildren, Chase, Kali, Chelsie and Clara; two step-great-grandchildren, Lawrence and Christopher; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Ehlers of Cedar Falls. Preceded in death by: her husband; a grandson, Curtis Barrick; and her six siblings, Virginia Davis, Paul Ehlers, Clarence Ehlers, Bill Ehlers Jr., Norma Sass, and Don Ehlers. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 29 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday Oct. 28 at the church. There will be no public visitation on Friday at the church.
